Dover Art Walk celebrates second anniversary

February 27, 2019

DOVER — For the past two years, the Dover Art Walk has been a catalyst for the arts in and around Dover. Every first Friday, artists from the area have been displaying their work, and an excited public has been making their way to local businesses to celebrate with them, according to spokesman Rebecca Protor.

This Friday, March 1, marks the two-year anniversary of that collaboration between the artists and the public who value their work. It is also an opportunity for those who have not yet ventured out to see what this “art-walk business all about?” says Proctor

With Spring just around the corner, and a map as their guide, local walkers will be able to see work at nearly a dozen local businesses – from Washington Street Mills (where so many first-timers are astonished at the variety of arts, businesses, services, and food establishments), to Cara Irish Pub, where the anniversary celebration will be held at the conclusion of the walk, at 8 p.m.

This month’s featured musical artists include Lydia Barnes and Thomas Knight who will be performing at the Mill entrance, and Steve Carter who will be playing at The Art Center.

With special thanks to Eversource, the Dover Art Walk is a Dover Main Street event run by the Dover Art Walk sub-committee including The Art Center, Dover Business Industrial Development Authority, and D Graphics.
