Gail has been an active Dover Main Street Board member for the last three years. Gail serves as co-chair of the Adopt-A-Spot program, the Dover Dollars program, and Dover Pride Clean Up Day. Always willing to volunteer at events, overseeing the agendas and minutes, and leading programs, she was awarded as Dover Main Street’s Volunteer of the Year in 2013. She also serves as Secretary for the Dover Kiwanis.

Steve Piper

Vice-Chair

Chair of Dover Cleanup Day

Works at the NH Dept of Transportation and Resident of Dover

Steve graduated from UNH with a BS in Physics and has worked in the Construction Bureau of the NHDOT for 36 years. As Station Host at the Dover Transportation Center, and serving on the Board of Directors at TrainRiders/Northeast and the NH Railroad Revitalization Association, he joined the DMS Board to help ensure that passengers of the Amtrak Downeaster have access to information about Dover’s many amenities, restaurants and events. Steve has volunteered for many Dover Main Street events over the years and currently serves as co-chair for the Dover Pride Cleanup Day event. He helped facilitate the Dover Main Street capital campaign to build the sign at the Dover Transportation Center and reconstruct the historic baggage cart that now resides within. He has resided in Dover with his wife Sue and son Aaron since 2006 and loves supporting locally-owned businesses.

Jennifer Brown

Treasurer

Chair of Hometown Holiday

Owner of Cornerstone Tax Service

Cornerstone Tax Services, LLC provides tax, bookkeeping and payroll services to individuals and businesses, as well as guidance with small business start-up. Jennifer helps Dover Main Street prepare our tax reports as a 501-C3 non-profit corporation. Her business recently moved from the downtown, to another location on Dover Point Road, but as a former downtown business owner she represents the interests of the service industries on the Board of Directors. She is a member of the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce, Cochecho Networkers, NATP – National Association of Tax Preparers, the Association of Professional Bookkeepers and Better Business Bureau of NH.

Robert Carrier

Board Member

Self-employed contractor and has lived in Dover all his life.

Bob is a native of Dover, graduating from Dover High School in 1970. He loves this city more than anyone and has been involved in almost every major progressive undertaking that it has tackled. Bob has served on Dover’s Recreation Advisory Board for over twenty years. He served on the McConnell Center Building Committee and is a member of the Master Plan Committee. He was on the Joint Building Committee for the Horne Street School and recently served as Chair of the Police & Parking Garage Building Committee. He currently serves as the Deputy Mayor and is Chair of the new Dover High School and Career Technical Center Building Committee.

Tom Massingham

Works at Garrison Hill Florists, Inc. and Resident of Dover

A long standing member of the Dover Main Street Board, Tom represents the retail & services of downtown and promotes preserving the character and history of the City while encouraging and promoting growth and improvement. He brings a great deal of knowledge of the history of the City, the business climate, familiarity with City government in his role. He has served on the Boards of the Dover Adult Learning Center, the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce, the Retail Merchants Association of NH, and as a member of the Dover Parent’s Music Club. He is a life-long Dover resident, and has two sons, Preston and Webster.


Jeff Spires

Chair of Run Before You Crawl

Owner/Producer, Spires Creative Media, LLC (est. 1994) and Resident of Dover (since 2001)

As a downtown business owner and Dover resident, Jeff helps Dover Main Street accomplish its mission by bridging the connections between community, business, and the City. As a media producer he brings expertise in design and branding for a variety of media output, including video, web, and print production. His love for historic preservation can be seen in the downtown historic markers and the Faces of Dover program, which seeks to highlight the history and unique people of Dover in a variety of mediums for public presentation. In addition to Dover Main Street, Jeff is Vice-Chair of the Downtown Dover TIF Advisory Board, Vice-Chair of the Dover Heritage Committee, and is the Technical Director for the United Way's Granite Youth Film Festival which is produced in part by the Dover Police Department and the Granite Youth Alliance.
